I founded Woodstock Psychotherapy in 2019, with a vision to put my heart into my community, and offer quality psychotherapy services to Woodstock and surrounding areas.  From my cozy office at 514 Princess St., I have experienced my vision coming to fruition, and feel gratitude every day that people have entrusted me with their lives, stories, and recoveries.

 

My vision for Woodstock Psychotherapy was born at the University of Waterloo, as a student in my Honours BA in Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies.  With a keen interest in topics such as love, relationships, sex, mental health, and psychology, I knew that I wanted to learn more about how people, brains, and bodies work (or sometimes work against us!).

 

I continued my studies with a Master’s Degree in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy, where the focus of my study varied from clinical assessment and treatment of mental health disorders, to spiritual and multicultural factors that impact wellness, to the basic building blocks of what makes us human.  My love for providing support, encouragement, and service to people only grew, and I knew I was on the right path.

My experience is nearly as broad and varied as my education!  Highlights include roles such as:

-Mental health support in a rural family health team setting

-Child and family mental health support in a child and youth agency

-Addictions and mental health support at an addictions treatment agency

-Research and program support at a residential hospice

 

The vision behind Woodstock Psychotherapy is to combine the best of these experiences - incredible learning, broad experience, amazing mentorship - and create a safe space for psychotherapy that prioritizes individualized treatment plans, a great therapeutic relationship,  and education that reflects the sexual, cultural, spiritual, and developmental diversity of this friendly city!

 

When I take off my “Therapist Hat”, I am likely to elbows deep in my vegetable garden, wrangling two large dogs, reading a great book, or enthralled by the latest Legend of Zelda installment.
